The Red Shoes (1948)

Dir: Michael Powell, Emeric Pressburger
IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040725/

I didn't like this as much as Black Narcissus, which I loved, but it was pretty good, if overlong.

The pacing was probably the biggest problem I had with the film. It was good in the beginning, making the film engaging, but it really slowed down near the third act. The full ballet scene was cool looking, but it went on for at least 15 minutes, which was a tad too long for my tastes.

The fairytale aspects were cool, but I'm not particularly a fan of ballet, so it didn't appeal to me as much as it could have I suppose. The visuals and music, however, are excellent.
